Teddy Park Jerusalem has long been popular with families, but it is even more enjoyable in the summer, when fountains run hourly, accompanied by music. This allows children (and adults, too) to cool off in the hot weather. The fountains, accompanied by music ranging from Mtaisyahu’s popular hit “Jerusalem If I Forget You,” to classical Jewish simcha tunes, create a magical atmosphere just below the Old City Walls.

Upgrades to Teddy Park Jerusalem

In recent years, the numerous trees around the fountains have grown and matured, and now provide plenty of shade. This, along with wide swaths of green grass, makes Teddy Park Jerusalem a place where families can enjoy picnics, or even spend the better part of a morning or afternoon.

Teddy Park Jerusalem also has a visitor’s center, where children and people of all ages can learn about Jerusalem’s famous mayor Teddy Kollek, who led the city from 1965 to 1993. An interactive display takes visitors on a journey through Kollek’s life, and the modern development of the city.

Kollek, who founded the Jerusalem Foundation, was one of the biggest builders the city has seen; he oversaw the rebuilding of the Jewish Quarter in the Old City, along with the Israel Museum, the Jerusalem Theater and many other cultural centers. The Jerusalem Foundation now continues that work.

Experiencing Teddy Park Jerusalem at Night

While it is a wonderful place to spend a day, Teddy Park Jerusalem should also not be missed at night. Twice each evening, the fountains run along with music as well as lights. While many people come simply to watch the colorful lights and jumping fountains, many children also run in the water and enjoy the fountains at night as well.

The fountains run, along with music, daily in the summer at 11:00, 13:00, 15:00, 17:00, 20:00 and 21:00. The shows at 20:00 and 21:00 include lights.
